But if we’re being honest, it really began with a cat.
Mango wasn’t just a pet. He’s family. He’s full of personality: curious, silly, effortlessly self-assured. He did what he wanted, when he wanted, with zero regard for anyone’s expectations, in true orange cat fashion. He makes us laugh every single day.
When we realized Mango was getting old, we realized just how short his time with us really is. There became this ache that didn’t quite go away. And in the months that followed, while we were sketching ideas and building vision boards, we realized that Mango had quietly woven his way into every decision. From the brand name to the color palettes to the feeling we wanted the product to evoke. His spirit was everywhere.
We named the brand Lynx + Loom as a tribute to him. “Lynx” for the wild cat that shares his independent streak. “Loom” for the care, precision, and intention behind everything we make.
But more than that, Mango reminds us of who we are when we let go of the noise. He reminds us to play. To be bold. To trust our instincts. And to show up fully, exactly as we are.
That’s the energy we try to bring into the brand every day. It’s the reason we’re building something slowly and thoughtfully, instead of rushing for quick wins. It’s the reason our products are designed not just to wear beautifully, but to mean something.
